Holy Week Part III: The Second Day

The Saturday between Good Friday and Easter is a day of reflection. Today, we ponder the endless silence found in the grave.

I think about Jesus' family and friends, of the bewilderment they must have felt that day. I have been in that place - the place where so many things I was sure of sat in ruins. Which way to turn next?

Before the third day, there is the hopelessness of the second day. The day when all seems lost and God is silent. Today, we consider that but for the hand of God, we would live in the second day forevermore.

May you feel His grace today,
Gail W.

The last Word:
O my God, I cry out by day, but You do not answer.
Psalm 22:2, NIV.

I was just thinking of that today, Gail...the followers of Christ on Saturday...they did not know yet He would rise on Sunday...
But we know...we do have that hope of new life, resurrection...therefore we wait eagerly in expectation...
Have a blessed Easter,
Love, Sita

Gail, once again, your words have WOWed me. I have never really considered the hopelessness of that 2nd day. I guess since I "knew how the story ended", the moments of hopelessness didn't take root. I love your words about "...but for the hand of God, we would live in the second day forevermore." Unbearable thought that has furhter deepened my appreciation for the sacrifice that was made.

May your Easter be filled with much love and many blessings.

Hugs,
Stacy

short but direct to the point... I wish there were a few more sentences... the thoughts expressed are beautiful. If not for the hand of God, we would be living forever in that in between place. Indeed praise God for the third day.

I read your two last posts one after the other, not wanting to miss out on what you write. They point me to God, always. Reading your posts are like sitting under the shade of a big tree on a hot day! So refreshing.
