Holy Week, Part IV: The Third Day

Old Testament
And there was evening, and there was morning - the third day.
Genesis 1:13
On the third day, Abraham looked up and saw the place [where Isaac was to be sacrificed] in the distance.
Genesis 22:4
On the morning of the third day there was thunder and lightning, with a thick cloud over the mountain, and a very loud trumpet blast. Everyone in the camp trembled.
Exodus 19:16
On the third day Esther put on her royual robes and stood in the inner court of the palace, in front of the king's hall, facing the entrance.
Esther 5:1
Come, let us return to the Lord. He has torn us to pieces but He will heal us; He has injured us but He will bind up our wounds. After two days, He will revive us; on the third day He will restore us, that we may live in His presence.
Hosea 6: 1, 2
New Testament
They will kill Him, and on the third day He will be raised to life.

Hallelujah for the third day! What a glorious thought! God always delivers! Thank you for this word.

I do so love this scripture from Job, as I mentioned before. It just moves me to joyful tears. My Redeemer lives! Though my flesh is destroyed, with my eyes I will see God. Thank you, again.

Thank you for all the Third Day scripture verses you posted. How refreshing it is to my heart to read this post today, dear Gail. And the Job 19:25 is just so appropriate as we remember the resurrection of our Lord.

The picture of the garden tomb reminded me of the day I visted His tomb in Israel. It's empty and I am filled!
