On day 2 of Beth Moore's Paul: 90 Days on His Journey of Faith, the focus is on memorizing God's Word. It reminds me of an elderly black man I once saw on the national news following Hurricane Katrina. He had been trapped on the roof of his submerged home for several days. He spoke of how the Bible had given him hope during such a dark time. He told the reporter, "The only Bible I had was the one I had in my mind. But that was enough." I stopped to wonder, "Do I have enough of God's Word memorized to carry me through when the Book is not available to me?" Memorizing God's Word isn't something we do to earn kudos on Sunday morning. It's something we do because we know the Word changes who and what we are. The more we carry in our hearts, the more we change. I don't know about you, but I am always game for change in this heart of mine!
May you feel His grace today,
Gail W.
The last Word:
These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates.
Deuteronomy 6:6-9.

Gail,
Welcome back! It's great to see you here. I know what you mean about feeling like you have nothing to say. I think all of us as writers struggle with that from time to time, and the enemy loves to keep us paralyzed with doubt and fear.
Keep persevering!
Blessings and prayers,
Kelli
One of the best ways I've found to remember God's Word is to marinate in a story for a few days or week. Not to rush my thinking but to absorb a verse or two by chewing on it continually. I may not always recall it perfectly, but by being deliberate in the way I approach the Word, I'm better able to recall its depth and witness as just the right time!
Keep to it.

You have shared a touching story. One we could all learn from. I believe that God intends us to store His word in our hearts because we need it to nourish our spirits!
Thanks for posting again, Gail! Your writing which is brief and direct to the point is like a breath of fresh air!
Love

Hi Gail,
This touched me because I can relate to what that gentlemen said. I believe in ingesting the Word of God and making it life for me personally because you never know when you won't have your Bible in your hand to look something up.
The more of JESUS (The Word) is down in me the more I can be a real living witness for HIM.
Thank you for sharing.
I pray to soak more of HIM in...
Blessings and hugs!
